Rev. Justin Clement, campus minister
Justin is a graduate of Samford University (’99) in Birmingham, Alabama and Elizabeth graduated from Meredith College (’98) in Raleigh, North Carolina. Elizabeth and Justin have three beautiful children, John Huss (he goes by both names), who was born June 9, 2004, Gardner, who was born September 13, 2006, and Eliza Jane (we like double names), who was born July 6, 2009. The Clements enjoy the finer things in life like college sports and enjoy cheering for the bulldogs. When Justin is not hanging out with students, he might be found jogging down Milledge Avenue or eating pizza at Transmetropolitan. He is also a self proclaimed expert in 1980’s music and movie trivia.
Mackenzie Hemphill, intern
Mackenzie was born and raised in the booming metropolis of West Point, MS (population 10,000), and graduated from her beloved Mississippi State University with a degree in political science…after entertaining several other majors while in college. While Mackenzie assures everyone that the Mississippi State Bulldogs are THE bulldogs of the Southeastern Conference, she is excited to explore fandom of the Georgia bulldogs. Mackenzie’s hobbies include watching SEC football and basketball, shamelessly watching reality television, reading and discussing popular teen novels, eating pizza (yes, that's a hobby), and trying to learn Taylor Swift lyrics. Despite her seemingly shallow hobbies, Mackenzie loves talking with and getting to know new people!
Things you should know: Mackenzie’s preferred breakfast food is a McDonald’s eggwhite delight (the picture of a healthy breakfast), her preferred month of the year is October (her home will be decorated accordingly), she enjoys strawberry cake and singing along and dancing to songs in which she doesn’t know the words to (basically every song that ever existed).
Joel May, intern
Joel is a second year intern and a recent graduate from the University of Georgia. During his time at UGA he majored in Religion and History, earning his degree as a Bachelor of Arts. He was involved in RUF all four years in college, along with being a loyal UGA Football fan, a frequent visitor of Snelling Dining Commons, and a guy who married way out of his league. Joel enjoys all things social, outdoor, fitness, and food. After working for RUF, Joel plans to go to seminary and pursue a career in vocational ministry. He and his wife Maddie live right next to the Bear Hollow Zoo off Milledge, and love to open up their home and make new friends.
