Rev. Ben Coppedge, campus minister
Ben is the campus minister at UGA RUF. He's from Marietta, GA and went to school at the University of Georgia. It was during the tail end of his undergrad years that God grabbed a hold of him and brought him to new life in Jesus. Also during his Athens years, he attended grad school at UGA, served as an RUF intern, and began what his future wife, Anna, would later describe as an "awkward" friendship with her (but hey, it worked out). After finishing his RUF internship, he moved to Philadelphia to attend Westminster Theological Seminary where he earned a Master of Divinity degree with a concentration in counseling. A highlight of his time in Philly was getting to minister to students at the University of Pennsylvania and reconnecting with that previously mentioned "future wife" who was working in youth ministry in Colorado. Anna and Ben were married in 2012, welcomed their "chublets" Eli into the family in 2014, Addie in 2015, and Noah in 2017! From 2013 to 2017 Ben and Anna had the privilege of a lifetime to serve RUF students at New Mexico State in Las Cruces, New Mexico. They're excited to be back in Athens and reconnected with UGA RUF!
Madeline Hogue, intern
Madeline is a first year intern from Louisville, Mississippi. She graduated from Mississippi State University in the Spring of 2017 with a degree in Educational Psychology. After hearing about RUF from her friends and family, Madeline quickly became involved her freshman year. Throughout her four years at RUF at MSU she learned more about God's love and grace and the beauty of the gospel. She's excited to be living and serving at the University of Georgia. Hit her up to hang out over coffee or a meal; she'd love to get to know you better and help connect you to the broader RUF community!
Joel May, intern
Joel is a third year intern and a graduate from the University of Georgia. During his time at UGA he majored in Religion and History, earning his degree as a Bachelor of Arts. He was involved in RUF all four years in college, along with being a loyal UGA Football fan, a frequent visitor of Snelling Dining Commons, and a guy who married way out of his league. Joel enjoys all things social, outdoor, fitness, and food. After serving with RUF, Joel is heading to seminary in Charlotte and plans to pursue a career in pastoral ministry. He and his wife Maddie live right next to the Bear Hollow Zoo off Milledge, and love to open up their home and make new friends.
