Sermon Series on What Jesus Is Doing Today (Fall 2008)The book of Acts picks up the narrative where the Gospels leave off. And that's important because the drama doesn't end with Jesus' resurrection. Acts begins with Jesus ascending into the heavens. But this does not mean that Jesus is distant or uninvolved. He is not simply waiting around until his return. He is actively establishing his kingdom through the Spirit. The implication is that we should not simply be waiting for his return either. We too should be active in his kingdom as it comes in our own lives and in the world around us. This semester we'll be talking about what this looks like as we work our way through the story of Acts and consider what it means that we are still a part of this unfolding narrative of God's work in this world.
