Small Groups

We have a number of small groups meeting this semester. Most of these groups will focus on the kingdom of God and follow what we’re talking about in RUF on Wednesday nights as we look at the book of Daniel, dealing with the question of what it looks like for us to live for God’s kingdom as we live in the kingdoms of this world. These groups will be a great way to discuss more fully what we’ve heard on Wednesday nights and apply it to our lives.

Another co-ed group will be reading and discussing a book, A Quest for More by Paul David Tripp. This book in many ways will follow the same theme, as Tripp explores what it means to live for God’s kingdom rather than our own. For instance, at one point he says, “It is so tempting to be committed to our little kingdoms that the transcendent kingdom of God is of little functional influence.” This is a great book that holds out the big picture of the Christian life while making great applications.

We’ll have one other group for girls only. This group will be reading the book Real Sex by Lauren Winner. Struggling through the Christian view of sex was prominent in Lauren’s own conversion to Christianity. While dealing with the common questions, she also places sex in the broader biblical context of human life and explores the lies of both our culture and the church about sex.
