Chapter 01
Arrive as guests. Learn the place.
Students begin by paying attention—to the neighborhood, the people, and the beauty of Puerto Rico.

Spring Break mission trip
Spring Break Mission Trip is a great opportunity for UGA students to have our eyes opened to the needs, struggles, and growth of Christ’s church in our own neighborhoods and around the world.
Ask about the next tripLong-term partnership
Over the past 25 years, UGA RUF has established long-term relationships and made lasting investments in churches in Belize, Greece, and Puerto Rico.
More recently, we have focused on deepening our long-term relationship with our Hunger Corps partners doing amazing work in Dorado, Puerto Rico.
Spring Break 2026 was our seventh year serving in the same neighborhood in Puerto Rico. That is part of the ministry’s history and the foundation from which future teams continue to learn and serve.

A semester-long experience
Our goal is for mission opportunities in RUF to be semester-long, formative experiences that continue shaping students for months and years to come—not merely isolated, one-week mission experiences.
The team of approximately 40 students who participate invests significant time and energy before the trip cultivating a healthy team dynamic, studying responsible approaches to global missions, brushing up on Spanish, and learning about local mission opportunities where they can continue serving after the trip is over.
Students build a healthy team dynamic, study responsible approaches to missions, and brush up on Spanish before leaving Athens.
The team serves as guests alongside established Hunger Corps partners and a neighborhood RUF has returned to for years.
Students learn about local mission opportunities so service and spiritual formation continue long after the trip.
