Large Group is our big weekly gathering when we come together to worship, pray, hear a thought-provoking and practical message from the Bible, and hangout. Want to get a sneak peak at Large Group before you come? Check out more here.
There’s free parking at/all around Redeemer’s building so use any spot you find. You can ignore the ParkMobile signs, parking during RUF events is free! When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by some friendly faces and a room full of people who’ll be eager to meet you. Worship kicks off at 7:30p and we’re all wrapped up by 8:45pm.
Greek Rush is on pause, you’ve got your first day of class under your belt, and you probably need a little help getting to know Athens and building new friendships. So this is the perfect event for you! RUF is taking over Molly’s Coffee (about a 5-minute drive from the freshmen dorms) Thursday night of Welcome Week… and all the drinks are on us! There will be some chill time to hangout, get to know people, and then we’ll gear up for a few rounds of UGA/Athens trivia.
RIDES ARE AVAILABLE, we’d love to come pick you up. Just let us know
We meet up every Friday from 3-5:30ish at Myers Quad for Volleyball. Drop by whenever you get out of class and hop in… or bring stuff for whatever sport/game you wanna play and get a game started… or just come hangout… we always have a sizable picnic-blanket crew!
RUF’s community groups are the best doorway into the RUF community—regardless of whether you’re a follower of Jesus or are just curious and want to explore more. They’re a place to meet new friends, deepen friendships, share life, and consider new ideas.
We’ve made it easy for you to become a part of a community group in RUF! Simply check out the list of groups offered this semester, find a group that meets at a time you’re free, and fill out the brief form. A leader will get in touch with you to offer a ride and share more details. And you’re always welcome to just show up, as well!
Freshmen Fellowship is a community of UGA and UNG freshmen that's easy to slip into at any point in the semester, connect with other freshmen, build deeper friendships, hear a thought-provoking message from the Bible, and share the ups and downs of the semester with people who care.
Freshmen Fellowship meets in TATE CENTER Room #473. It’s the glass-walled room at the top of the main staircase in Tate (right above where the Tate Barberritos is). People start arriving at 8pm and it wraps up at 9:30pm. Learn more here.
Transfers into UGA and UNG… we want to meet you and help you connect to others in RUF! Join us before Large Group for dinner downtown and then we’ll all head back to Redeemer at 8 for the service. Meet us in Redeemer’s parking lot at 5:45pm and we’ll walk up to Ted’s together (about a block away). Have questions? Or can’t make the dinner but still want help connecting to others in RUF? Let us know!
What’s a “Sprint Series”? They’re short term, staff-led, on-campus groups that commit to spending 5 weeks studying a particular discipleship topic and putting what we learn into practice. Groups meet for 5 consecutive weeks for 1 hour at a specified day/time/location (usually Tate or MLC).
To promote deeper relationships and learning, groups are limited to 10 students and weekly participation each of the 5-weeks is expected of group members in order to join.
Check out our lineup of sprint series this semester or check out one of our other community groups!
This year’s Fall Conference (FallCon) is happening the weekend of October 10th at Sharptop Cove Camp in North Georgia. It's the perfect time to get out of town with new (and old) friends to deepen relationships, hear excellent and thought-provoking teaching, and enjoy the outdoors. We’ll have the UGA football game on the big screen, so you’ll still get to pull for the Dawgs with 150 of your friends! Registration opens in early September and closes the first week of October. Click here to register.
RUF is hosting all of our UGA community for a Christmas service and celebration at the UGA Chapel on North Campus. We’ll sing familiar carols of Christmas, fellowship, and hear a brief Christmas message from the Bible. This event is for our whole community not simply RUF, so please share this news with your friends and classmates and plan to come as a group!
Pro tip… Winter Retreat is THE best way to connect with others from UGA RUF. That’s because it’s just US! This is the retreat that most incoming freshmen, transfers, and new students credit with helping them feel like part of the RUF family.
We’ll spend the weekend together in the mountains of Western, NC full of fellowship, the great outdoors, and excellent teaching. Cost is $110 and covers your 5 meals, lodging, recreation and speaker fees. Scholarship help is there for the asking, so please don’t let money be an obstacle to you joining us.
Signups will open on January 1st, 2026.
Our 2025 Spring Break Mission Trip will be an opportunity for us to serve La Hormiga community located just outside San Juan. Applications for our 2025 are live and must be submitted before December 1st, 2024.
Invite your friends and come join RUF at Lake Herrick’s lakeside pavilion for a fun night of hanging out, sports, a square dance (!), and a chili cook off. Free parking is right next to the lake in the IM Fields Parking Deck. Bring your friends and come join us.
Join us as we kick off this year’s Freshmen Fellowship with a huge taco party at Redeemer Church in downtown Athens (165 Pulaski Street). All incoming freshmen to UGA and UNG are invited. If you need a ride, we’d love to give you one. Just let us know!
Parents’ Lunch is a BLAST! It’s a great opportunity for your parents to get a first-hand taste of RUF, meet the staff and all your closest friends, and hear about ways they can be invested in our ministry here in Athens even from a distance. Our main aim is to have fun, though. We’ll enjoy a big meal together, do some “Are You Smarter Than a College Kid” trivia… and then turn the tables with some “Are You Smarter Than a 1980’s College Kid”.
Students, parents, and siblings are all invited to join us for the lunch on Saturday, March 23rd. Lunch is $10/plate and you can pay when you show up. You must RSVP to attend so we can ensure space and food for everyone. To RSVP, click here.
There’s free parking at and all around Redeemer’s building so use any spot you find. When you arrive, you’ll make your way to the Lower Warehouse (signage and friendly faces will guide you.) Lunch will begin at 12pm, and we’ll be wrapped up by 2:00.
Join us every Thursday from 12-2pm for lunch in Bolton’s upstairs area near the long tables. Look for Grace, Eliot, and Felicity, they’ll get there a little early to grab a table. Drop in whenever you’re free and make new friends… or bring your friends with you!
EVERYONE come join us Friday night around the bonfire at the Bennett Farm. We’ll have hot drinks, dessert, snacks and good tunes. Just show up and bring some friends—or come to meet new ones. The Bennett Farm is at 9767 Jefferson River Road Athens, GA, 30607. It’s out off of Prince Avenue, about a 12 minute drive from campus. If you need a ride or someone to follow, contact an intern!
Not sure where you’ll be going on the first day of class? Bring your schedule and meet some upperclassmen RUF students at the Arch! We’ll walk you to your buildings and help you get to know your way around campus. If you have questions about bus routes, which advisers are best, tips for certain professors, how to survive 8ams… then come prepared to ask away! We’ll meet AT THE UGA ARCH (downtown—any UGA bus line will take you here from the dorms) at 10a and will walk from there. We’ll grab lunch at Bolton Dining Hall on campus afterwards.
God’s word is meant to be read and applied in community… not in isolation. We need others to help us grow and connect the dots of God’s work in our lives. And so Community Groups are the relational and spiritual glue that hold us together. We’ve made it easy for you to become a part of one! Simply check out the list of groups offered this spring find a group that meets at a time you’re free, and fill out the brief form. A leader will get in touch with you to offer a ride and share more details. And you’re always welcome to just show up, as well!

Join us at Redeemer’s Lower Warehouse (right behind the Sanctuary where Large Group meets) as we enjoy a pizza dinner together and hear a bit more about all the community groups RUF is hosting this fall and how you can get involved.
Group leaders will be there to introduce themselves, offer rides for the weeks ahead, and get to know you. Even if you don’t know if you want to do a community group this fall, you can still come by to check them out and learn more.
Join us as we kick off this year’s Freshmen Fellowship community with a taco party at Redeemer’s Firestone Room (downtown Athens, 30-second drive from freshmen dorms on Baxter). Along with drinks, outdoor games, and music, there’s a room of friendly faces eager to meet you. Covid-19 precautions will be in place including the event being open-air, food being served (not buffet-style), sanitizer stations, and individually packaged drinks.

If you’re transferring into UGA or UNG in the fall or are an incoming freshmen, it’s the best way to begin to get to know folks before the rush of August arrives.
See you there… first meeting is Wed, June 5th!
